The girl was laying on her bed, her feet dangling off the edge of her bed as she laid flat on her stomach. She wore a dark blue tubetop, and a pair of dark blue shorts. Rhea's golden blonde hair was let out of her bun, as she flipped through her Mp3 player, looking for a song to listen to.
Sighing, she just randomly flipped through, until it got to a song--any song--and what song did her mp3 player pick? Sorry by Buckcherry. Secretly, she named that song her's and Dane's. Secretly, that is.
This Summer certainly had changed a lot. Rhea'd been able to work through her problems, to figure out exactly how she felt about Mr. Dane Matthews--and she'd come to a conclusion, finally. She was in love with him. Her best friend, she was in love with him. The only thing was, what would she do about it?
The past two weeks, she hadn't really seen him around, and it'd gotten her into a wreck-even if she did her best not to show it. Of course, Ophelia and Reese would see through everything, and they'd know that something was up. Still, she just wanted to see him, and soon. Rhea hated going through long periods of time..without seeing her Dane.
But he wasn't her Dane, was he? No, he wasn't. He might've been someone else's Dane, for all she knew. She wasn't one hundred percent certain. Afterall, he was one of the hottest, amazing guys in school--why should he stay single? Besides, he deserved a lot.
Even if Rhea knew, no matter how good of a person anyone said a girl who her Dane ever held in his arms was, she would never be good enough for Dane--ever. Though, of course, she couldn't just come out and say this--no, that'd be wrong. So, each time she saw a girl with Dane, she'd have to grit her teeth down and bare it--one of the hardest things she'd ever done..to keep herself from messing up the girls' face.
Now, as she had her earphones blaring in her ears, her chin resting ontop of her arm, her legs crossed, not focusing on anything but the words of the song and her thoughts, she didn't hear anyone enter her room, or even bother to see who it was.

Parties. Girls. His nephew. Tyson & Reese. Quidditch. Friends. Work. The nightmares. This summer had been a busy one, especially the last few weeks. Last year Dane had vanished during the entire summer break and when he came back he had trouble with sleeping, nightmares and strange tattoo’s on his arms. It had been though the first few months but all had seemed to go well till a few weeks ago.
From out of nowhere the nightmares had returned, making Dane restless and pretty much very awake every night. Also every now and then he got these green flashes in front of his eyes and strong bolts of burning pain shooting through his head. Not to mention the tattoo on his arm was starting to hurt again. He hadn’t told anyone about it, especially not cause he knew his sister couldn’t handle anymore bad news right now. And well, maybe it would just blow over again. So why worry other people with it?
Suddenly plopping down on his back on the bed besides Rhea, Dane yawned, poking her side to see get some of her attention. It had been a while since he had seen his best friend and she would probably let him know she didn’t agree with it. So this morning he had decided to drop by, see how she was doing and just relax. Maybe they could go to the beach later or the park, just laying in the sun for a while. Now that he could aparate them anywhere he wanted he did so a lot, well anything he couldn’t like fly to on his broom.

"I mean, how could he possibly ever love a girl like me? I'm moody, I fight alot, I'm stubborn, I can't say the right things, and I get over emotional. I'm insecure, and it'd just be best if he didn't even know, right?" So many thoughts ran through her head, as she kept the song on repeat, thinking. Where the hell is he anyway?
And that was when she felt someone poke her for attention, and she felt a very familiar scent. She turned her head, and then she saw Mr. Just-up-and-dissapear. God, he'd probably gone to a few parties with his brother, and had gotten drunk and had sex with some beautiful, blonde bimbo lady. She rolled her eyes, acting aggravated, though she was doing her best not to pull her headphones off and hug the life out of him. After rolling her eyes, she went back to her MP3 player, waiting for him to say something.
Who did he think he was anyway? God, Dane Mattews better have a good excuse concerning his abscence. And, if it's another girl, she would scream, and then yell at him. Well, no, she wouldn't--but you catch the drift. Two weeks. Two. Fcking. Long weeks, and he'd been gone. Two weeks. Yes, two weeks.
Keeping in silent mode, she just listened to their song over and over again--until finally, after feeling him next to her, she broke the silence, and said two simple words, anger and hurt in them a bit, even if she hadn't intended it. She didn't look at him again though, not until she heard him speak or he wrapped his arms around her.
"Two weeks."

For a moment their eyes locked, right before she rolled hers at him to only turn her face away from him again. Oh great. She was either pissed or upset with him in another way. Well come on, as if he had heard anything from her in those two weeks! She could have owled him too but she hadn’t done that. Girls, Dane really did not understand them at times. Anyway, she would turn around and cuddle with him in a little bit. She always did that eventually.
Crossing his legs he brought a hand to his mouth, yawning. She had her hair loose. Not something she did often but Dane thought it looked cute. Stubborn little thing, he had said it enough times though. Then again, girls. Oh well, you couldn’t change an Andonevska. Not that he wanted to, hell it would take him years of his own life to do that. Same with Mackenzies, but they shared a bit of the same blood so it had to be expected right?
He had just closed his eyes for a minute or so when word came out. “Yes I know, I can count sweetheart.” Come on, what did she want from him? To apologize or something? “It does goes both ways Rhea.” Opening his eyes he looked aside to her, course he had missed her. He had just been busy with a lot of stuff.

“With your uncle, I thought you knew that?” Normally Dane would stay in the orphanage during the summer, but Frank had said he could live with him and Reese during the summer and the holidays. Which was great cause living in the orphanage wasn’t all that ‘wonderful’. Tyson had spend the first half in the summer in Australia and had then joined them back in England. So this summer had been pretty wicked, well at least part of it had.
Dane wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. See? She couldn’t stay mad at him, she always gave in to cuddle with him. “Of school. Not you and me against the world sweetheart.” They would always be in each others life, school or no school. He ran his hands gently through her hair, knowing that she liked it if he did.
This year would be great. Reese was back and he had gotten to meet his nephew Nate, he had left the orphanage, was yet again quidditch captain and prefect and he could get to see all his friends again. It had to be a good year, it just had to be.

Rhea shrugged, "No, I havn't really seen him that much, and Reese didn't tell me." If Reese had known, she had obviously forgotten. Rhea sighed, closing her eyes, and just letting herself go for the moment. She gave in to feel his protective arms wrapped around her, to smell the scent of his cologne. Keeping her eyes closed, she just listened to the silence, taking it all in as it came.
She listened to him as he promised it was just the last year of school. She listened to him promise that they would take over the world together. She listened to it all--and she wanted to so desperately believe it. Yet, indeed, it was hard. Still, she smiled and opened her eyes.
"Tell me some girl didn't whisp you away from me while you were gone?"

“Oh. Well she has been going through a lot lately, I’m sure she thought you knew.” There was no reason why his sister wouldn’t tell Rhea he was living with her and her dad for a while. Like always his fingers started to twirl strands of her hair around them, tugging them softly every now and then.
He smirked at the idea of some girl ‘whisping’ him away. Everyone knew Dane wasn’t the type of guy who had one night stands, flings and what not. Well at least not frequently, or a lot or whatever really. Sure he made out with girls every now and then but never went really further than that if he didn’t knew the girl. Some guys called him insane but he wasn’t really into that.
“Well it was hard to turn all those dozens of girls down. Some were really pretty.” teasing her some while wrapping his arms a little tighter around her. Laying here with Rhea was nice, maybe a little more than nice. More than she knew that is. Sure, she knew he didn’t mind cuddling with her but did she know he only cuddled like this with her? That he only liked it when it was with her? “Nah, I’m still very much girl-less. And you? Found a hot girlfriend in the mean time? And if so, can we share?”

Rhea laughed, giggling, shaking her head. She loved being there with him, having him there in her bed. It just...felt right. Natural. The way it should've been--all along. Still though, they didn't really..click in that way--or they hadn't yet. Now, she would take a chance--act like she was joking around, to see what he'd say.
"No,I'm pretty girl-less myself," She smiled, looking at him now after she'd placed a soft kiss on his lips, "But I do know a few things. There's this girl I know, and she's pretty into you. I think you and her should date." Not that he knew, of course, but the girl was her. Even if one of her close friends asked her to, she'd never ever tell him that they liked him. Never.
Her heart beat grew louder as she waited, waiting for him to say something.

During the last two weeks of vacation Dane had been thinking of his best friend more than he had done before. At first he had thought he just missed hanging out with her cause he was used in doing so every other day. Yet, when he actually started to see Rhea in every girl with blond hair that passed him he knew he had been wrong. So fine, maybe his feelings about her had changed over the last few months.
A lot had happened, was happening right now and maybe that cleared things up for him a bit. He wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but he knew Rhea started to look more and more beautiful every time he laid eyes on her.
The soft kiss came somewhat unexpected but he didn’t enjoy it any less. “Yeah? And who might this girl be?” And what was Rhea getting at? He knew that look in her eyes, it was a look she had given him a lot in the last few months. Dane did have an idea what it might mean although he wasn't entirely sure just yet.

Now, all kidding set aside, Rhea was being very serious. She'd fallen in love with him, and now..she just had to take a chance. She was risking a lot--possibly their friendship. But it was either now or never. She felt like it was the right moment, and now, she was jumping the gun.
She knew that the look in her eyes had changed, or at least whenever she'd looked at Dane. She'd been told several times by her best friends, who saw the difference. Even if Rhea tried to hide it, she couldn't. Not when it just came down to the actual truth. Rhea was starting to fall in love with her best friend.
A soft smile played on her face as she looked him in the eyes, just really feeling like what she was doing was the best thing she'd done in a few years. She kissed him again, only this time, it was a kiss that wouldn't be shared between two friends--but lovers. It was a kiss that said everything she wanted it to say; with passion, fire, and intensity all rolled into one kiss.
"Me. The girl is me, Dane." Rhea said, finally, when she pulled away.

Dane’s eyes closed slowly when she leaned in and kissed him again. One of his hands slipped up to the back of her neck, gently stroking the bare skin with his thumb. The kiss she gave him was sweet, soft…a kiss he had never experienced like this before. But it was definitely well liked. Returning the kiss it ended too soon for his likings again.
He opened his eyes again to look up into hers. A smirk played on his lips when she confessed she had been talking about herself. “Oh sweetheart, I know.” His hand moved to cup her cheek, making his own smirk turn into a smile. “and that idea of yours…I like it.” Talk about changing things between them like major!
Pulling her down a bit his lips caught hers this time in a sweet kiss. Dane wasn’t sure what this would lead to but that things had changed between them had not started today. It had started weeks ago but it was only recently he came to realize it.
