Sarah Golden's hands were placed gently over Ophelia Nixon's eyes. She led her off the plane and sighed as she knew part of the surprise was given away. "Yes, okay, you flew to a different country, but still! No peaking!"
As she pulled her out of the airport, still making sure one hand was placed firmly over her eye, you could hear the sounds of cars and people shouting for taxis. She grinned a little more as she thought that it had given even more of the surprise away.
She pulled Ophelia up to an apartment building, led her inside, uncovered her eyes and quickly started pushing her up the stairs so she couldn't see a thing. "Now, now. Remember how I always told you about that place I've always dreamed to go?..." She smiled and pulled back the curtain, revealing a large city. Below, you could see Broadway and all the signs advertising the featured musicals. "Welcome to New York City, my dear Ophelia."

To say Ophelia Nixon hated surprises would be an understatement. It had to do with her impatience and the fact that if she didn't like it she always felt bad afterwards. It's something that had been that way from when she was little and she really couldn't change it -- Much like her irrational fear of bunnies, but that's another story for another time. Anyway, when Sarah had whisked her away all secretly, Ophelia had been a little... Skeptical. She was sure it would be good, because, hello, it was Sarah, but it was also surprise. Still, Ophelia was determined she'd like it.
You don't stand in front of a five foot tall determined blonde, unless you want your arse kicked from here to enternity. Thanks.
The whole airplane thing had been a total and complete surprise. When she stepped off, she seriously would've fallen on her butt if Sarah hadn't been there. "Oh my God, not cool, Sarah," she said, though she didn't really mean it. Such is Ophelia. Walking up the stairs was quite the event, but they managed, Ophelia being pushed the entire way.
Sarah's words made Ophelia raise an eyebrow. "Um... Yeah, what about --" And then, her 'blindfold' was gone. A gorgeous city was revealed, one Ophelia had only ever dreamed about. This was... Flipping amazing. "SARAH I LOVE YOU!"
Cue flying pounce hug on the older girl. Ophelia rarely contained her excitement. It was kind of a problem.
